3: Detailed Centaur launch summary
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Each line gives object name, SATCAT (NORAD) number, international
designation, initial orbit ( perigee/km x apogee/km x inc to
equator/deg, or perihelion/AU x aphelion/AU x inc to ecliptic/deg ),
current status (1997 orbit or decay date). NNA = No number assigned.
'International designations' containing the letter F, e.g. 1971-F04, are
my own designations for launch failures and are not official. The
designation (GD) after an orbit means that the orbital data come from my
1992 correspondence with D. Lesney of the General Dynamics Centaur team.
Other orbital data are from Space Command and the RAE Table of Earth
Satellites. Apogee and perigee assume an Earth radius of 6378.2 km. 

The Surveyor probes had a landing radar which covered the retro nozzle.
Before landing, the radar was ejected, the retro fired, the retro was
ejected, and then the probe verniers carried out a soft landing, with
the radar and retro hitting the surface separately. The Centaur stages
for Surveyor were not tracked after venting and their current orbits are
unknown.

The post-sep orbits for several missions (AC-26, AC-47) are unknown
but may be recorded in GD's microfiche records - whether these
were saved when LMA took over GD is unknown.
