# GCAT Type GCAT-Name CCSDS C Part DEBRIS D Debris DEBRIS P Payload PAYLOAD R Rocket ROCKET BODY X Unknown UNKNOWN
The letter codes above are from the first byte of GCAT's SatType code field.
Operations status doesn't map directly to anything in GCAT. In derived GCAT products we have ACM for operational manueverable, ACN for operational nonmanueverable, and PL for nonoperational payload, However 'maneuverable' in GCAT means 'had the capacity', not 'still has the capacity'.
GCAT has a 'end of primary operations' date and a 'dead date'. Objects with a nonempty end-of-primary-ops date and an empty dead-date correspond to the the BACKUP_STORAGE_STANDBY or DEGRADED_OPERATIONS. Objects with a nonempty dead-date but an empty reentry date are in the NONOPERATIONAL category. Objects with a nonempty reentry date are in the DECAYED category.
GCAT does not capture the concept of EXTENDED_MISSION (just treats that as operational) nor that of REENTRY_MODE>
