ATM icon S162 (Apollo 15)
The Apollo 15 S162 Alpha Particle Spectrometer flew in the Science Instrument Module Bay (SIMBay) of Apollo Service Module SM-112 in July-August 1971.

The Apollo 16 S162 Alpha Particle Spectrometer flew in the Science Instrument Module Bay (SIMBay) of Apollo Service Module SM-113 in April 1972.
ATM icon Skylab S054
The S054 X-ray Spectrographic Telescope was flown on the Apollo Telescope Mount on the Skylab space station in 1973-74.
ATM icon HEAO A-3
The A-3 experiment on HEAO-1, launched in August 1977. The experiment consisted of two scanning modulation collimators with proportional counters, used to get accurate positions of known X-ray sources.
Rosat icon ROSAT HRI
HEA provided the High Resolution Imager (HRI) for the German-US ROSAT satellite. The HRI was a microchannel plate detector which made the highest spatial resolution soft X-ray images to that date.
