The 23kg D-1C geodetic satellite was launched in Feb 1967 from Algeria. (D-1B was cancelled). Like the other D-1 satellites, it was built by Matra for CNES. It carried laser reflectors and a Doppler beacon transmitter for accurate orbit determination. The apogee was lower than planned, but the mission was otherwise successful.
