KH-8 27 (GAMBIT 65) was launched on 1970 Jun 25 by Titan 3B Agena D from Vandenberg. According to Richelson [179] it observed SS-9 (Soviet designation R-36) missile silos. KH-8 27 also carried a MESA accelerometer to study the density of the upper atmosphere, which operated until Jul 5. The mission lasted only 11 days.
